Exactly!
Republicans can insult half the country without consequence. Democrats make even the mildest critical observation about conservative voters and never hear the end of it.

The reason for this asymmetry is simple: Republicans have figured out that they can weaponize victimhood. trib.al/KhrYvo5

@governor.ca.gov can we change the tax system so states are extorted for their own citizens’ taxes back. Better representation and control comes when I pay my state and the states remit upward. Current federal tax system is basically extortion.

This is why we need to abolish the US federal income tax, taxes should be remitted to the state you’re in then states would apportion back to the federal government. This removes the extortion possibilities like this.

While Ring has offered end-to-end video encryption since 2021, it isn’t the default setting so users should look into changing the privacy settings on their security cameras, EFF’s @MGuariglia.bsky.social told WBUR’s Here & Now. www.wbur.org/hereandnow/...
Ring says police partnerships help solve crimes. What does it mean for your privacy?
Since Amazon acquired Ring, the company has waffled on its messaging around crime and fallen under scrutiny for data privacy failings. Recently announced partnerships with police departments and weapons manufacturer Axon signal a renewed focus on using private cameras to fight crime.
