Have you considered codeberg? You can disable pull requests and issues on repos. I moved my couple of repos from github and have been pleased with the performance. Moving repos was really easy (including all history). Many OS projects have left because of all the AI requests, as I understand it.

I was looking at this last night. It's a great visualization. I kind of wish there was some kind of coordinate system so you could actually track through different areas in the map.

It was suggested to attend and treat it as an episode of MST3K or Rocky Horror: sit in the front row, throw mushrooms, or wave white Christmas tree branches...sure there are limitless possibilities here...except attending would be $ one might not want to give.

I tried deploying Forgejo at work, but ended up switching to Gitea. The process flow in Gitea more closely matched github. Been quite happy with the performance of Gitea. Either are good options, depending on your requirements, since it sounds like you're willing to self-host.
