Well, the Senate dismissed and went home. Shutdown is happening. And now, pretty much every GS federal employee has no idea when we'll see another paycheck. Congress will be out for a couple of days for Yom Kippur after tomorrow morning, so we're not looking at just a day or two.

🤬Looks like we're headed for another government shutdown where Congress will get paid, but I won't. Government shutdowns don't help anyone and I'm really tired of the number of times in the 16 years I've been a public servant that we've gone through this.

Looks like I'm not going to be allowed to work after tomorrow - Again. Congress will get paid during a government shutdown, but federal employees like me have to wait until it's over and then get blamed for all the delays and problems that result from a shutdown. 😡
