My feeling is that Congress has become decreasingly able to pass laws due to the filibuster/scotus & laws that do get passed take so long to do anything tangible. These lead to people having a general sense that there are a lot of things "wrong" that nobody seems to be fixing or even trying to fix.

They have gotten so used to not doing anything they mostly don't have principles to stand on or a positive agenda to push for.

Slightly more seriously. It's crazy how the entire supposed constitutional theory of Trump 2.0 is that all power is vested in this single individual, down to every last tiny detail and whenever you ask him he's like "I have no idea; ask the lawyers"

I can't agree enough with this read. It's maddening to watch the majority of Democrats act like passive observers, as if it's not their literal job to do *something*.
