It's near Lake Park, MN. I did not know there is a Bergen, MN. I just Googled it. I've been through Windom a few times, but never Bergen. I would love to visit Norway sometime. Enjoy your trip.

Military action was unpopular with the people of Sweden. The union was disolved in 1905 & Norway became independent.

Norway in 1902 was a semi-autonomous nation in a union with Sweden. Ultimately, they were under the rule of the Swedish king. They kept demanding for more control of their own country & were preparing for conflict with Sweden.

They're no different than immigrants today. They're just from a different country. They left their country to build a life in America.

One of their sons started farming a few miles away. That farm has also become a large operation that is still in the family.

As an aside, I saw Foghat at one of the saddest music festivals ever. It was a sparsely attended event (There were dozens of us. Dozens!) in a field in central Minnesota. Foghat soldiered on, as did we.
