Why is the truth always behind the paywall of time?

I’m more agreeable in person

The swimming pool / phone call one I was thinking, ‘ok thats a fresh take’ but it became increasingly apparent they didn’t give a toss about devising plot, just manufacturing big set pieces spectacle and not even paying them off.

I lose patience with that very quickly. If I wanted to not know the plot or character motivations I can easily switch off, so I do.

At least that one has been explained. Unlike Sherlock where they would set up massive cliff hangers at the end of the season, then a phone rings so the villain just gives up the whole operation; or just not bother explaining how the main character survived a suicide leap completely unharmed.

My theory that Danny Boyle ripped a hole in the Space-Time Continuum at the 2012 Olympics thus fulfilling the Mayan prophecy still holds

Those are all pretty watery arguements, and seem entirely preoccupied with political content. Spend a week on Snapchat and see the junk they’re pushing there - extreme body dysmorphia as a lifestyle choice

The ban should extend to all smartphones, show teenagers how to use MP3s again.

I care about the environment, which is why we need to change their system to stop NIMBYs blocking major energy infrastructure.

We need hydroelectric, tidal and offshore wind installed as a matter of extreme urgency, even if Tommy Tiernan doesn’t like the idea of looking at them.

This goes back to before the internet and includes TV. The man who slipped on the ice on RTÉ News was a punchline for years, when he must have cracked his skull on the pavement. I can only think the dissociative effect of a 2 dimensional screen makes people think they are watching scripted fiction.

I genuinely think that dehumanisation via screen has become so ubiquitous the only way to make people realise the harm it’s causing would be to victimise someone they know.

(Which I’m not advocating to be clear)

How many of the government accounts have blue ticks, signalling they are paying a fee to be on the platform that increasingly few actual humans are using?

When Alphabet / Google reckon they’ve maximally trained their AI from our emails and spreadsheets, I reckon they’re going to shutter Gmail and Docs, or at least put them behind a paywall.
