And a contingent that doesn’t even live here wants to close a school that educates neurodivergent teenagers. For what reason? To save a few dollars in the district budget? What the fuck is going on with people’s priorities?

I mean, these beautiful homes all around the city – the city itself sustained by workers who can’t afford to live in it – how is this much different than the construction of the pyramids?

I don’t know anything about the opinions of that house’s owners. But I pass by it each day, and it’s begun to symbolize for me what’s inherently wrong about our country right now.

In my city, there's a palatial house being built by a team of Spanish-speaking men. The completed second story exterior boasts Christmas wreaths. Meanwhile, ICE disappears children from their families.

I know there have been many black bear sightings in Wallingford, but I just haven’t been lucky(?) enough to see one there myself - only once did I see one, I think, in Yellowstone: a mama with her cub.

I am hoping to find a tart variety! But they’re not easy to come by in our area - mostly the stores have Fuji, Gala, and Honeycrisp.
