I re-read Crisis a couple of times a year. I don't re-read all the tie-ins each time, some of them are barely tangentially related. But 40 years later, Kara's death gets to me, every-f'n-time. It is the most impactful death in the series, it increased the stakes for the characters, and the readers.

Oh it's got to be Vi. The wallflower still in the process of becoming more confident. All of the choices could provide value to the League, but Vi is the one of the four who would grow while with the League.

A couple of things I real like about that spread, first the Pre-Crisis Supergirl, I'm glad they included her, and Laurel Kent is there as well, they did that character dirty in Vol 3 42, 43, with the horrible Millenium tie-in. Couldn't leave loose threads tying The Legion to Supes after Crisis...

F'n sweeeeet! Now that is a comic book haul I can get behind.

The henchmen in the background with numbers on their uniforms are something that sticks with me too. When the Venture Bros first came out and Monarch's numbered Henchmen were introduced the first thing I thought of was this storyline.

Beasts is among my favourite storylines. I loved the concept, and the designs and art was fantastic. I really liked the Reena character. I felt the storyline was building for Reena to become the next member of the league and that Maximus Rex would be a return character down the line.

The only thing this video needs to be pure purrfection, is to finish with the other cat at regular speed turning exasperated and saying "Damn it Todd! You're fucking high again."
