For my father, 1934-2019. With every day that passes since your death under HSCNI, I wonder if those who harmed you remember you and I wonder how long it will take to get the truth. You were golden and your life was priceless.
There’s a strong case for audio recording discussions with patients & families on DNRs and including a statement on forms for them to sign, that it was discussed with them, that they understood and consented to the decision and were not told it was a medical directive in which they had no say.

We can have no idea how often this happens, in care facilities, hospitals, other HSC settings and in domiciliary care. The vast majority go uninvestigated because, well, ‘old people fall’, don’t they?
