The word “cultures” is being bandied about there with a great deal of generalisation and imprecision. It is the current racist trope.

I don’t want to be “that guy”, but don’t we agree that the octopus has not really learnt to “play” music as the headline claims? That said, I am still up for an octopus concert and monkey tennis.

Awful writing and depressingly typical. That middle class cohort are economically squeezed and their career paths outmoded; they cannot meet their inherited expectations, and so lash out at others.

I agree, a sort of postmodern complacency, like the sexism of the Lad Mags was said to be ironic or “meta” as feminism had won the culture war.
