“In her complaint, the scientist, Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, who had directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, objected to Trump administration actions, alleging that they had endangered research subjects, defied court orders and undermined vaccine research.”

And the CDC has officially decided to switch back from Mpox to Monkeypox. A reminder, the world still uses Mpox, this disease does not come from monkeys, Mpox is less stigmatizing and racist. Switching back is just meaningless, unnecessary, racist, and homophobic.

STI rates coming down, but still lots of work to do. This is a combination of public health efforts, doxyPEP, regular screening and treatment, and expedited partner therapy. Congenital syphilis STILL INCREASING though and requires regular testing 3x in pregnancy where high rates of syphilis #STISky

CDC released provisional 2024 data on sexually transmitted infections (STIs). For the first time in years, overall reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, & syphilis are down ~9%. In 2024, over 2.2 million STIs were reported. That’s still 13% higher than 10 years ago.

Listen to the experts

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

This is the most anti-science thing I have watched today.
What is most shocking about this is all of these statements are being made without any scientific evidence to back it up.
There are very few safe options to treat pain and fever in pregnancy so this is also an attack on women's health.

what the hell did Tylenol ever do to this guy?

Pregnant women can't access the #COVID vaccine. If they get #COVID and develop a fever, they can't take Tylenol? 🫠.
Both COVID infection and untreated maternal fever increase the risk of bad outcomes for both fetus and mother ranging from preterm delivery to death.
None of this is pro-life.

Every medical professional I know has dreaded this announcement and unanimously called it questionable at best. Large cohorts have shown there is NO link between acetaminophen and autism, it is by definition a confounder at best, and leucovorin…I have no words

UPDATE: President Trump and his deputies tied autism to acetaminophen use during pregnancy, presented a cancer drug as a possible treatment, and said the FDA would change labeling to reflect both claims. There is little strong scientific evidence for either.
Trump blames Tylenol for autism. Science doesn't back him up

We are working on posting an archived version, but lemme say this clearly. I took an oath to do no harm. I will practice best evidence medicine, that includes providing care to trans and gender diverse folks. To dictate otherwise is to practice medicine without a license and to cause direct harm

While the world has been on perpetual fire and dealing with the whirlwind of public health issues being thrown at it, the CDC STI Treatment Guidelines for Trans and Gender Diverse folks was removed. This is the government directly interfering in medical care of a historically neglected population.

I disagree with Charlie Kirk on almost everything. I don’t think he should have died that way. I have empathy for him and his family. I ask for the same empathy for the LGBT+, BIPOC community and other communities that have been targeted by mass shootings. Pass common sense gun control.

What is so evident in the last 24 hrs is we can all agree to condemn political violence, but many don’t seem to be able to show empathy to other people and communities that have been targeted in the past. I think that’s what makes this so hard for many of us.

The term endemic is one that I hate and has a long history of racisms, colonialism, and laziness. The idea being that if something is endemic, there is nothing we can do to control it, and often times it's a problem for a place "over there" not here. We need new phrasing but Chagas disease is here

Spent 45 mins trying to access an ASL interpreter for a patient. Ppl don't understand how much ESL and ASL can be a barrier to patient care, it's actually terrifying.

Dr. Offit co-invented the rotavirus vaccine, he is a pediatrician and a physician scientist who has dedicated his life to protecting children and advocating for vaccines. His term was due to end 2027 but of course his expertise was intolerable to RFK.Jr.
