Good - I’m loving the number of people they’re pissing off now that they’re showing their colours. Now it’s people on ILR, people with settled status, parents of children with SEN, young people who want a minimum wage and the elderly who want the triple lock.

I wear one because my Poppy served at Gallipoli, my Dad in the RNZAF, my sister the RAAF, my brother and Nephew the Army and myself and another nephew, the Navy. I buy one every year with pride. I have no issue with people not wearing one and refuse to equate Poppy wearing with patriotism.

Why was he even making an announcement? It’s not an election year, council elections aren’t til May. Conference season is over - why was he doing this at all??
