Box of Delights, first new episode teaser. (An easy one, sound on.)

After the world’s longest hiatus, my TV nostalgia podcast - The Box of Delights - is coming back for a real actual series of new episodes. And you don’t have long to wait!

Classy and poised. Haunted even.

Bagging a gong and a cushion. (Bronze for Best Fiction Podcast at the BPAs.)

Thanks to everyone who helped us make Broken Veil, and everyone who listened, in this reality or others.

I mean move, obviously. But failing that, get it sent. Waitrose deliver and have most of those.

@alistairbarrie.com I love Noilly Prat and Vermut Lustau Blanco is also excellent. Dolin also pretty good.

All it takes to turn a project I’m desperate to do into a project I’m desperate to avoid doing, is for me to get a day where I finally have the time to do it.

It’s magic!

This interview could be dissected by medical students. Good god.

To make this brilliant Aitchison painting work for the cover for The Dad - a last minute change - I had to flip the image, so the dad’s face wouldn’t vanish under the Ladybird colophon. Which then meant cutting out and reversing the label on the custard tin. The things we’d do…

Just think for a minute. A man lost his job for being friend with Epstein. The same week, Epstein's BFF gets a state banquet. I can't get over it

I reviewed Michael Portillo and his red trousers which seem to me even more offensive than usual at the moment. (In the picture, he is turning into one giant red trouser.)
200 Years of the Railways is much better when Michael Portillo shuts up
He’s the BBC’s go-to train guy, but this first episode is a dry history lesson - albeit nicely filmed
