14 years ago, research funding gave me the chance to be a summer research intern at Penn (@pennldi.bsky.social). Last week, as an emergency medicine physician, PhD-trained scientist, and professor, I had the honor of mentoring my own intern as he gave his final presentation. 1/2

Can health insurance slow biological aging? 🧬 Our new study suggests it might. Having insurance, especially comprehensive coverage, was linked to lower epigenetic aging in U.S. adults - highlighting the biological impacts of social policy.

Are immigrants in the U.S. aging slower—at the DNA level? 🧬 Our research reveals immigrants had younger epigenetic ages (~2.5 years!) compared to non-immigrants, while U.S. citizens were older than non-citizens. Learn more about these population findings: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
