The first handful of S1 eps are great, then it basically becomes a different show. Not a bad show, but a much more recognizable one in terms of subject and pacing.

I think Reactor or someone asked here recently for a book from the last five years that you'd decree (magic wand-style) a 'classic.' I said The Butcher of the Forest. Then I reread it, because maybe... -- but NO. I was RIGHT, and I stand by it. So good!
