We finished what we set out to do. The work is done—for now. Time to breathe—and maybe reflect. There’s no better place for that than here, by the ocean. #ocean #thankful 🙏🏼💙🌊

It doesn’t make a sound.
300 million years old.
Fast, sharp, gone in a blink—Mangrove Dwarf.
Only in places like this.
The mangrove holds carbon, breaks waves, raises life.
This too is ocean.
It just moves differently.

This garden lizard, Calotes versicolor, can shift color—camouflage one moment, signal flare the next.
We’re in the mangroves.
Not just roots and mud.
Nurseries. Wave breakers.
Over 1,500 species rely on them.
This is ocean territory too—just different sounds.

Many think free-roaming water buffalo are wild. They’re not.
True wild buffalo are endangered—only a few thousand left.
Buffalo don’t sweat.
They lie in mud to cool down, keep insects off, and protect their skin.
It’s not comfort.
It’s survival.

Back from Paramount, heading to Darwin Island! This expedition has been incredible—surpassing expectations with the number of sharks tagged, including this thresher shark. Watching them swim calmly into the deep after release is unforgettable. They’ll teach us so much about how to protect them.
