Being the chaos you want to see in the world!
Forgot to bring in the mail yesterday, so I’m just opening a note from my former neighbor gay Don.

He’s been sending little notes to cheer me and this one closed with:

“I’m the pretty bird in the cover, but you are too.”

Love him!

Knit check/Fit check:

I am almost as disheveled as my grocery store, but I needed to check my sleeve.

I plan to decrease a little volume over the next 4-5 inches and try it on again tomorrow.

And maybe brush my hair first.

It’s like walking on Mars.

No soak for me today.

Knit check but no Fit check.

I’ve started the right sleeve and gotten past the initial shaping and German Short Rows.

German Short Rows and German Shorthair Pointers are the best.

I think I want to keep the sleeve loose until mid forearm and then tighten for the cuff.

The Buddha Report:

Not bad, but the snow is super heavy, melting underneath and on top. So basically stupid.

Knit check/Fit check.

The bottom ribbing is off the needles and it hits just where I want it to.

Tomorrow I will start a sleeve, but part of me likes it as a vest. It reminds me of when we used to rip off the sleeves of sweatshirts because they were too hot to dance in.

Love them too!

This is Zooz, Moon Hooh & Lucky Chops almost three years ago in Buffalo.

Knit check/fit check time.

I might be able to finish the bottom ribbing by tomorrow and then onto the sleeves.

Yesterday I had an intense conversation, with a 16yo, about high waisted jeans and my theory that no one knows where their waist is until I tell them. That was fun, I’m not wrong.

Sometimes I get frustrated with Joanne’s kids leaving me out, it’s my inner middle child. I just want to be informed and fix stuff.

Sometimes they are so lovely that it makes up for my own crappy siblings.

Her son just dropped off his homemade biscotti without letting me know. This is so sweet.

Also baked Joanne a loaf of lemon bread.

Butter Pecan Kringle, from this recipe.
www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/butt...

There are multiple ways to make a Kringle. Rather than a yeasted dough or a sour cream dough, I went with the pate a choux on a crisp base.

I made my own caramel sauce and made too much icing.

I’m supposed to be picked up in a minute!

My house has a bookcase wall on hinges that opens up into my workroom to make the living room bigger. I hate when people remove them here. (I also forgot about it because opening it scares me, it’s heavy and full of my treasures)

My friend across the way is having a CALAMITY!

He will call me later to discuss at length. I am his person to call during calamities, it’s just who I am.

Imma blame this for all of today’s tears.
December 4, 2025 at 10:44 PM
I’m still knitting through my feelings.

Joanne is struggling, but will see two doctors tomorrow. If you call her, she will tell you she is fine. If you see her, you know better.

I’m going back there soon, I’m going to do 2-3 visits a day until things are different.

Today’s knit check/fit check.

Today’s knit fit/fit check.

Now it’s time to knit my feelings.
December 3, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Finished up the dinner rolls and everything to take to my friend.

I usually just add a little rosemary to these soft rolls, but today I used Herbs de Provence. They smell terrific.

Everyone talks about having a friend you can call if you need to bury a body.

I did this.

Hell yeah! I’ve learned to reduce the amount of heavy cream in the cheesecake layer so it doesn’t disappear.

These are what I wanted with two types of chocolate morsels. One should melt, one has a bite.
December 3, 2025 at 1:50 PM
I’ll cut them once I finish my coffee, but I think they are perfect.

Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies.

The best part is that I can let them cool overnight and not have to cut them until morning.

They are assuming I know where the beer might be!
