Lovely. Government returning to the days of "if you're still on your first marriage you're not working hard enough." (Actual quote from man who thought it made him sound cool.)

This I know--not first hand, but close at hand. (Was wondering whether it was worth passing on.)

I am, just cautious.

I do understand that (once had to take a class in it) and not arguing with the study, but my primary-source obsessed brain always wants to know--the original studies 6 girls, 20, 100? What criteria?

Love everything about this! (Books and miniatures, and oooh the patience and precision it must have taken...)

Curious--what's the data pool here? "For accomplishments of these objectives, we performed extensive searches for pertinent original studies, reviews, books, theses and case reports on scholarly databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and EMBASE."

Digressing here, but I used to give talks about titles and you make a good point. (I'm terrible at titles, had a publisher boss who made me learn.) Good ones have a hook, and let you know tone, and genre. Favorite example:

Try something else creative, see if it calms your mind enough to read. If you're watching movies or tv, think about what kinds of stories are calling to you. Also, try audio if you haven't already.

All the awful things going on in the world and this is still bothering me. Is it a political statement? Are we now popcorn bombing? Or a new culinary low?

I might have read it twice.

Hey @alisakwitney.bsky.social this looks like one for you!

I follow current events, but mostly just want to talk about books. (But also, as an ocean kayaker, interested in what's swimming beneath my boat.)

Ah, definitely needs to be at the top of your tbr pile!

You can never have too many books. Good brain.

Not a big battle reader myself when it comes to fiction (not a big fan of the brother vs brother, clan vs clan themes.) I am fascinated by strong world building.

That's one of the few times I wish I was in book group--usually I get cranky about being told what I should/must read. But some books I wish I could discuss (We Do Not Part, Comfort Me With Apples.)
