Cry, VoidBringer releases TOMORROW & today is the last day for pre-orders which are so important in helping make sure that books do well & that we are able to get more amazing reads like this! This is an action packed feminist fantasy of oppressive government and what resistance looks like! #booksky

My library hold finally came in this morning, and I know this is going to be especially useful at this moment in time. Take care of your friends, neighbors, and your wider community! 💜 #booksky #MutualAid

This is literally one of the most ridiculously immature things I’ve ever seen on a US government website. Are there any rational adults left in our government or is it being run by toddlers that missed nap time? #GovernmentShutdown #TrumpsShutdown

Watercolor work in progress, we visited Bancroft Castle recently and it is a lovely location. An excellent place for a picnic or a cosplay photo shoot, with beautiful views and interesting ruins. #BancroftCastle #Artsky #Watercolor

Walking at the beach today and saw this little one’s shell. Amazing creatures even though the underside freaks me out when they are alive. #HorseshoeCrabs

I received an ARC copy of Grace Walker’s debut novel The Merge, all opinions expressed are my own. An excellent if slightly creepy premise, what would you do if you could merge your consciousness with another person & share a body? review on IG(link ⬇️)

The Indigenous one wasn’t the only book, did you see the one with an Asian MC and the title is, I kid you not “BENTO BOX” 💀😬😬
August 16, 2025 at 10:19 PM
So what thoughts do you have about Nnedi liking and laugh reacting to slurs made in comments about the Indigenous person that made the original request? So far you’ve just blocked and ignored anyone that has asked, so we already know what you aren’t saying.

I picked up my library holds today and started this one IMMEDIATELY. If you enjoyed the unhinged, unnerving, and weirdness that was Tender is the Flesh, you will most likely enjoy this too. So odd, in a fascinatingly creepy sort of way. #booksky

The worst one I saw was her laugh react on the comment with a slur.
August 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM
And her laughing at a comment on her posts with a straight up slur? My shelf is getting a LOT of space freed up.

We had a busy spring with family stuff and depression kind of kicked my ass so the spring season of the garden was not great. Today was a day of resetting the beds, organizing the seeds and planning the late summer/fall crops! #gardensky

A recent read that was cozy and fun! The Bookshop and the Barbarian is definitely worth reading, but especially if you are a fan of Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams! A cozy story, with lots of randomness, a bit of weirdness, and a slightly odd sense of humor! #booksky #cozyfantasy

I was out by Burlington MA today and since I don’t get out that way often(or without an escort of young people that get bored easily!)I had to stop at one of my FAVORITE places, Used Book Superstore! I got five books, but there were so many more that I wanted (next time😉😂)! #booksky

Since we have short characters limits here, my full review can be read on IG/SG/GR. Basically this is one of those books that will heal all the cracks, splinters and broken bits of your heart that you didn’t even realize were there. Full review on Insta- tinyurl.com/5a9r7tue #booksky

Reminder to pre-order bothCry Voidbringer and Devil of the Deep! Both of these books deal with themes of colonialism and oppression, but in very different ways. Cry Voidbringer is an anarchist fantasy that focuses on complicity, and Devil of the Deep tackles the role of religion in oppression.

I have been searching for a carrom board for my spouse for more than two years, all were either too far away or too much $$$$, but I finally found one at my favorite local thrift store! #Carrom #thriftfind

Happy Juneteenth! If you support Black and Brown authors, @michaellaborn.bsky.social’s Left Unread community is where you need to be! Don’t forget to join the discord &sync it to bindery! Not only is the community incredibly supportive and fun, but we have the most unhinged fun conversations!😂

Thrifting for books is like a treasure hunt, I found The World We Make months ago and I have been searching for book one since and FINALLY found it the other day! I also found Tagging Freedom (with a cool sticker!), and both for less than 6$!!! WINNING❤️ #booksky #thriftingfinds
