You’re well aware that as covid took hold the DUP were slavishly following Boris and his disastrous handling of the pandemic. If you seriously want progressive politics in the north then you need to get off that cosy fence , which does nothing but maintain the status quo.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more abject Celtic side and I’m 60 , this really needs to be a turning point for Desmond. Either sack the board or sell up .

That’s why there should be no talk of a regional assembly in Belfast or of changing flags etc until after partition is removed. It just stymies progress. The west Germans retained their flag/anthem after unification. Unionism is at best 14% of the population and will be treated equally .

Until Partition is removed unionism has no incentive to any reconciliation north or south . Once removed I’d say unity will be achieved much quicker and smoother than many think .

He’s wrong , the PSNI is still a predominantly unionist police force, nationalists are almost twice as likely to be arrested/ charged with offences. The BBC is unionist controlled . Loyalists openly parade our streets without censure.

The reality is unionism is approx 13% of the Irish population , partition ( and British military force) is the only reason they hold any sway on this island . In a unified Ireland , with their toxic world view, they’d find it difficult to make any lasting political accommodation .
