Thank you. I'm getting some good info, I did envision states collecting the taxes and passing them to the feds. But you and grainsofsanity.bsky.social have cleared that up for me. Funny, I've said that same thing many times & never gotten informed responses.

Seems they're somewhat lower in all nutrients, including fiber which 80% of Americans are deficient in. But the main drop is in potassium, which my husband is supposed to avoid. I'm going to try them!

Wow I'm getting an education on boxed potatoes - something I NEVER thought I would use. But if they're really as good as some of you are saying, I'm gonna check into their nutrition profile compared to actual potatoes, and maybe have another staple on my shelf!

While Washington state waits to hear whether FEMA will step up after our devastating floods, I'm again thinking that if the feds withhold funds to blue states, blue states should quit sending funds to the feds. See how they do with only the $$ red states supply.

Yeah this is what I believed had happened in past generations. I thought we had 'improved' over what this country had going on in the past. But 2016 disavowed me of that false belief.

Agreed. I mean, even if some wanted to claim we're a pretty good country after he was elected the first time, there's no standing for that claim after a second time.

Will do, if there are any. But really, what I see happening is future Dems using every bad move Reps have normalized. I do think some people start out in government with good intentions, but until we get the $$$ out of it, corruption will rule the day.

I love that you mention the smell! I have a super-sniffer so I know exactly what you mean. Smells similar to my grampa's old shop.

I'd never bring store-bought to Thanksgiving just because the side dishes are so easy IMO. But I recognize that many people don't like to cook so I wouldn't ask them to bring something like pie or rolls. For non-cooks I offer choices like a veggie tray, cheese & crackers, etc.
