My favourite hits radio station has a feature on the breakfast show where listeners are asked to suggest songs relating to a theme of the day. When the theme was “rap”, the suggestions that the DJ read out - with a completely straight face - were: ‘Rapture’, ‘Chant No.1’ and ‘World in Motion’

I’ll forward on the PDF. You won’t have to talk to me! (Please don’t, I’m crap at small talk, just take the ticket and have a good evening 🙂)

The guy on Twickets who sold me my #Suede ticket for tonight on (balcony) also sent on a ticket for the neighbouring seat, at no extra charge, as it was a concession and might have to prove you’re Universal Credit at the door. So if anyone wants it, it’s yours (I don’t want anything for it)

The above sounds mealy mouthed, but it’s all to do with when the music hits you. If #Suede had lived their career in reverse I’d be “Animal Lover is good but it’s no Dancing With the Europeans is it?”

Honestly #Antidepressants is astonishing. Any new Suede album can only ever be my third favourite given the very special place the debut and Dog Man Star held in my heart at the ages of 17 and 19 respectively. But to say it beats Coming Up given the place THAT held in my heart… now that is something

Got a Twickets alert and for once the ticket hadn’t already been snapped up so I’m going to #Suede tomorrow! Especially looking forward to hearing Brett yell “fill in the FAWMZ” at some point

When I was 10, I was convinced “Dr” out of Dr and the Medics was actually Morrissey #totp

Imagine a newspaper trivia quiz in the 70s, 80s or 90s asking the name of the Number One of the day - let alone if it happened to be a record breaking Number One

Arthur Lee’s Love, playing Forever Changes in its entirety, backed with strings and horns, were sensational, so shove it Richard Osman 🧐

I was there! Except I wasn’t. Suede were playing while I was traversing the Pyramid field and I didn’t stop 😐 I’d been so passionate about them just a few years previously. It would take post-comeback to reignite that passion

You can hear a direct lineage between the drum machine/synth track in ‘Sussudio’ and MJ’s ‘Bad’ #totp

Hmmm. A re-release of All My Loving reached the UK Top 40 last year…

@litteronthebreeze.bsky.social I’ll tell you why Lazy gets a bad rep (Ep 12). It’s because it sounds exactly like ‘Scooby Dooby Doo, Where Are You?’ youtu.be/hTq6nwO4oJU?...

Drop Dead Gorgeous by Republica is basically Big Bottom by Spinal Tap isn’t it? “Talkin ‘bout mudflaps, my gal’s got ‘em” #totp
