Is anyone else noticing a big uptick in pro-China content on Tiktok lately? Everything from a Japanese guy going there and saying how great it is, to a black American dude saying how wonderful it is, and how the US sucks.

Can you identify this celebrity just from the picture? When I read the linked news article about her visiting New Haven I thought they'd used the wrong photo. t.ly/WlBA-

This morning, I ran across this YouTube short of Carl Sagan explaining how the ancient Greek scientist Eratosthenes, who lived between 276 BC and 194 BC, calculated the circumference of the Earth to an accuracy of within 1% of the correct value. t.ly/A-nP7

For anyone interested, I received an email today from my Congressional Representative. It included a link to a website that tracks the challenges to Trump's many illegal orders and actions. Here is a short link: t.ly/9CdlO

One of my fave breakfasts lately: peppers (jalapenos, Fresnos, Bell, Italian) and eggs, with a hash brown patty side.

My theory on the Trump reelection has been that a very large number of voters don't care to read about or follow politics, and they voted against Biden because their grocery prices went up. Throw the bums out, right?
So, how do y'all feel now that you voted for Trump?

Just wanted to show you how much drugs cost if you don't have Medicare Part D coverage. Until Pres. Biden and Congress enabled Medicare to negotiate drug costs, I used to have to get grants to help pay for my cancer meds. Now they're covered, altho who knows what the Orange Asshole will do now.

One of the first, if not THE first Sprite Challenge videos, and still the best, IMHO. I LMAO every time I watch it.

Oh Sweet Mother of Pearl, wait until the RFK, Jr. and MAGA Loonie Bins get wind of this. I mean it's funny how fucking delusional they are, but it's also tragic that people, including kids, are going to die and suffer unnecessarily because of their insane disinformation.

This article examines the difference between acting "nice" and being "kind". It's been said of us New Englanders that we're very kind, but not particularly nice about it. I'm inclined to agree.

These complimentary terms are often used interchangeably, but they carry distinct meanings. Knowing the difference can help you choose your words more thoughtfully.

My hobby is making hot sauce and giving it away. I use homegrown peppers and store-bought. This recipe, Aloha, has turned out to be quite popular. It has Habanero, Fresno Red peppers, with pineapple, carrot, onion, garlic, lime, and vinegar. It's about 7/10 in heat. DM me to get a free one.

I'm delighted with this news for several reasons. First, of course, is that the horror of war will stop for innocent civilians. Second, hostages will be released.
Third, selfishly, I'm glad Biden got this done before the 20th, so Trump won't be able to credit for it.

It's really a sad commentary when supposed "professional news writers" get simple stuff like this wrong. WFSB, do better.

It's "lightning" not "lightening". They got the headline right, but not the URL, the photo caption or the body text.

The wrong time for an Oopsie in Mystic. A cop is stopped at an intersection on a side street. A driver on the main street drifts over the center line, goes up on the sidewalk and crashes into the cruiser on the passenger side. She was drunk and using her cell phone at the time. t.ly/ZMkN2

Jimmy Carter lost the 1980 election because of economic circumstances he was not responsible for and had little power to change.
It's my contention that Democrats lost in 2024 for the same reason. When the economy is bad, regardless of the reasons, the sitting President and party pays the price.
