Today’s photo captures the Oriental Harbor, where a couple of trawlers are moored to the outer pylons, getting ready to set out to their fishing grounds around the Inner and Outer Banks.

The large red scallop and shrimping trawlers are docked up in the Oriental, NC harbor as ominous clouds build to the south. Weather is coming, but that matters not to these large vessels secured in their moorings.

The Bean is Oriental's favorite coffee shop. This photograph was captured after a hard frost hit the area and formed up interesting ice formations on one of their tables. This still life study while of a simple subject has its own interesting composition.
