An article in @theguardian.com today states that the Dolly Mixtures were "beloved by the Undertones". Can @mickeyundertone.bsky.social confirm or deny this, and maybe play them in honour of the book that's being promoted: Teenage Daydream: We are the Girls Who Play in a Band, published on 25 Sept.

Talking of @mick-herron.bsky.social, I saw him speak at The Royal Geographical Society last week. He said he only used AI once, and he asked it whether he should be afraid it would take away his job. He was disappointed it didn't say "I'm sorry, Dave, I can't tell you that."

On my way to work in 'Nam (Cheltenham) reading @mick-herron.bsky.social new Slough Hfouse book, listening to @mickeyundertone.bsky.social on BBC sounds and feeling every second of my 63 years, having fainted over the weekend due to drugs (medically approved) and drink (medically unapproved).

@tatemodern.bsky.social THE GENESIS EXHIBITION: DO HO SUH: WALK THE HOUSE
Once you stop sniggering at the ‘measuring and rubbing’, this is a fascinating exhibition. The film, contrasting the chaos of other people’s rooms with the stark emptyness of rooms waiting owners, is surprisingly relaxing.

On my trip to the RAH I went to 2 pubs in the list of #TimeOut 50 best in London. Unusually for that list, they both merited the listing. The Palm Tree, a real East End boozer with a chirpy cockney barman, and the Nags Head, an old school City bar with a friendly Aussie barmaid. #pubs #london

A photo from my visit to the Royal Albert Hall. Some claim to have seen the ghosts of two young women, known as ‘the girls’.
They could be linked to what was the site of Gore House, where the Count d'Orsay lived with Lady Blessington, his first wife's stepmother, and kept a brothel in the basement.

Went to a Prom last night. Beethoven and Bartok. Billed as "from light to darkness" I nearly didn't go back for the 2nd half. After Ludwig's 7th, the story of Bluebeard's Castle seemed a bit of a downer. The music was, the performance wasn't. #bbcproms #royalalberthall #beethoven #bartok

There is a weird sculpture in Weymouth called Torpedosaur. This is me riding it.

Spent an afternoon in Reading (pronounced Reading) and went to view the Victorian copy of the Bayeaux Tapestry. It was obviously Victorian as they had put shorts on the men to cover their naughty bits. Even without the naughty bits there was a lot of pointing going on, so Mike and Mark pointed back.

I liked the sound of @paulwellehq.bsky.social new covers album that I went out and physically bought a copy from a record shop. I'm really enjoying it and wonder if @mickeyundertone.bsky.social will be playing a track on the Late Show any time soon.
