What is your thoughts on mandatory worker representation on company board (codetermination)? European countries have similar requirements. Do you think that would have a positive or negative impact on company performance and worker benefits?

Don’t hate that. Biggest worry with that is companies modifying schedules to optimize for least amount of full time employees possible (I’m thinking of places like Starbucks and their scheduling practices). Would want proper union representation to act as a counter to such corporate scheming

To add: I don’t trust companies to just do the above. Need rules and regulations that incentivize this behavior.

Okay I see you are critical of buybacks - which I appreciate. Dividends are fine but not optimal IMO. If innovation and a strong working class is the goal, then using profits for reinvestment and raises (and ideally pensions too) is best IMO. Shareholders get rewarded through raised stock price.

What are your suggestions outside of raised taxes on the rich? What about any shifts in corporate governance? Stock buy back bans? Regulating dividends? Increasing union power? Shifting wealth inequality can’t just be hinged on billionaires choosing to submit to more taxes.

Also, if you have a single payer system that has a private insurance opt out that by definition is not a single payer system. That is a multi payer system (like we have now) with a public option...

Can you explain why you would include an opt out option for private insurance in your healthcare plan? Private insurance has no value add and would likely remove the wealthiest and healthiest individuals from the entire single payer risk pool, who are vital to the sustainability of single payer
