Don't Come Around Here No More is the sexiest Tom Petty song.

I'm glad Christopher Walken is taking it easy. He deserves to chill.

I'm old enough to remember when that movie Crumb came out and everyone watched it and then were just like, depressed for a week. If you ever want to just feel like garbage, watch that movie.

Don't get me wrong, it's great. But it's friggin bleak.

I just said a few minutes ago that I was going to be more positive.

So with that in mind, I'd like offer that Scorsese and Spielberg and even friggin Georgie Porgy Lucas are still okay in my book.

I've heard just about enough from Francis Ford Coppola and Ridley Scott.

Threw on the new Criterion of NIGHTMARE ALLEY 2021 and forgot that the reappearance of Richard Jenkins and Mary Steenburgen makes this the Catalina Wine Mixer of Guillermo Del Toro's oeuvre.

He's going to Walter Reed to meet the troops and maybe, you know, do some other stuff. Nothing really. It's the troops plus possibly other stuff, but like, regular stuff. Not dying stuff. Just like, standard super old guy who eats McDonalds every day and has been visibly rotting kinda stuff.

New — White House says Donald Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday.
"On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops. While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check up. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering going to the Middle East shortly thereafter." - White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

When I was a kid, my biggest dream was to have Wolverine claws.

It is now, too, for that matter.

I didn't think about it at the time, but in retrospect, it was pretty bro-y.

I've gotta resit the urge to start every post with "man..." and "dude..."

Both because it's gendered and also because I'm appalled by everything so much of the time, but I don't have to share it.

I'm gonna be more positive. Not for flowery self-help reasons, but just because it's exhausting.

Remember that movie Baby Girl with Nicole Kidman?

That movie friggin ruled and think more people should talk about it.

It's almost like the old Joy of Sex illustrations, except with much neater pubic grooming.

Oh, hi! Thanks for asking! I'm working on my next book, Scout's Arrival. Well, next after next. I still have to finish my last book.

Anyway, this is about a pop singer who also kills people and drinks their blood.

Also, every time I've written a character based on myself, it's been a woman. It just works out that way. All of the characters that I actually care about in my books are women.

I don't know what to do with that. I don't know why I am that way. I just relate to women so much better.

I gotta tell you something.

I'm pretty comfortable with my gender identity. Yes, I feel like it's boring, but it is what it is, and I'm cool with it. I have no pressing need to be in a different body.

She's kind of aspirational for me. I basically based Charlie on myself, and I hope that I can be as dedicated to getting back up as she is, even when she's battling depression and anxiety.

Frustrated and angry with herself. Disappointed. She gets disappointed a lot, but she really is doing her best!

I wish I could be as cool as every friggin lesbian I've ever met.

I wish people would stop acting like he's being fed bad information and just doesn't know better. He's frigging LYING. That's it. He's lying to get what he wants.

Charlie my character, not the account that asked the original question. Just for clarity.
joehumphrey.bsky.social
Charlie is always trying to be the best version of herself and so often fails. She desperately wants to be taken seriously. She wants to be impressive, but is stuck in the body of a teenage girl, and that makes it difficult. I that quality is endearing, and I love her for it.
