From today’s session on my first novel! Tentative title is “Occupants.” In this scene, our protagonist is encountering, with no small amount of trepidation, his ex-wife for the first time in ten years. Whatcha think #writingcommunity ?

Excerpt from the novel reading, “ There’s a private language old lovers have that can’t be forgotten. And it haunts their lives whether they want it to or not. It’s the other party in every romantic encounter that follows. With our arms around each other, the old ways rushed back to me. Her body felt the same against mine, despite the methods in which time had broken me and, I can only assume, her as well. Those arms and those chests and those breaths still went together like they were made to do just that.
