"Virtue signaling" is an anti-social (derogatory) term for pro-social behavior, nothing more and nothing less. Being virtuous is good, we should signal that we value it so that other people will be more virtuous. This is what it means to live in a society.

Meghann Burke, the leader of the NWSL PA, made it clear they thought the Spirit's projections were reasonable. So it seems very likely that the league is being disingenuous here.

The strongest case the league has is that somehow the Spirit are 100% intending to abuse the buyout clause provision in the CBA. But they can't prove that if there's a clear path to being under the salary cap. That seems like a 2028 problem!

I legitimately don't understand this. Iran might be elite foodwise but famously Egypt is absolutely not. Belgium as what, fries and waffles? And New Zealand has wine and lamb? How does this rank anywhere near the top?
