they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

ICE is claiming that the officer feared that Renee Good was about to seriously injure or kill him at this moment.

2025 is now, officially, the worst year for job creation outside of recession since 2003.

Even is the latest dubious claim was accurate — that both of the people shot in Portland were Tren de Agua gang members who tried to run their agents over — why did the agents not pursue them after they shot them and the suspects the drove away — or, at bare minimum, why they not call for back up?

A 3-time Trump voter in
Minneapolis just told MS Now that he faulted the way that Trump and Vance are handling the ICE shooting.

Anyone with even a vaguely open mind who watched the videos and/or watched interviews with in-person witnessness has to admit that ICE unnecessarily took someone’s life.

JB Vance claiming that the the media is somehow responsible for ICE clearly murdering someone (as proven by multiple videos and multiple live witnesses) is dangerous and authoritarian.

ICE refusing to allow a physician on the scene to immediately aid Renee Good made an appalling instance of federal tyranny even more atrocious.

Two things are true at once 1) Racist restrictions on home ownership have bolstered white supremacy, and 2) Many people of color who have been able to buy homes have used that to enter the middle class and build intergenerational wealth. Our public policies should obviously promote the latter.

Noem wouldn’t say whether the ICE agent was injured before or after he shot Renee Good, which almost certainly means that it happened after, which means: 1) this was murder, not self-defense, and 2) any injuries to the ICE agent were cause by that ICE agent. Horrid and unnecessary all around.

We still don’t know the facts yet about ICE shooting and killing someone in Minnesota, but this is certainly a very troubling development.

Conway is unlikely to be competitive in NYC Dem primary. He said he had to “Google” district to learn about it. A long-term conservative, he foisted far right judges upon U.S. who ended Roe, and now he says he “views, values and philosophy have always been the same.” www.nytimes.com/2026/01/06/n...

Maduro Is Gone, but Repression in Venezuela Has Intensified www.nytimes.com/2026/01/07/w... Based on how Trump and Rubio had no plan whatsoever about what would happen to Venezuela after they took out Maduro (other than getting oil), this news is both utterly predictable and utterly shameful.

It will be absolutely heartbreaking when Venezuelans figure out that Trump is going to steal their oil and not give them democracy.

If you believe our takeover if Venezuela is about advancing democracy, I have a few oil tankers to sell you.

Let me get this straight — the President of the United States and the US Secretary of State — both of whom presumedly have pretty busy day jobs — are going to personally “run” a foreign country that has 29 million residents and covers 350,000 square miles from afar?

What could possibly go wrong?
January 4, 2026 at 3:06 PM
At least the Bushes and Cheney knew enough to at least pretend their wars were about oil

But Trump is bragging this war is about oil.
January 3, 2026 at 8:04 PM
No, it’s not a choice between tolerating dictatorships and unilateral, illegal wars supposedly to support semi democracy. The world community can — and should — team together to better support peaceful, democratic transformations of dictatorships.
January 3, 2026 at 8:00 PM
It’s clear that the Trump Administration has no serious plan whatsoever to bring security, justice, and democracy to the people of Venezuela.

The only clear plan they seem to have is to steal the oil of Venezuela.
January 3, 2026 at 6:30 PM
LNot a single member of the press asked Trump one of the most obvious questions: why did Trump violate the clear provision of the U.S. Constitution that says that only Congress can authorize a war?
January 3, 2026 at 5:25 PM
When Trump said “we are not afraid of boots on the ground in Venezuela,” he clearly didn’t include himself or any if his military-age family in that “we.”
