Random teenager asked me in front of his mates if I got dressed in the dark this morning? Funny thing was I was dressed in bog standard T-shirt/jeans/trainers and… so was he.

Also I’d go a little wider than transfer policy - it’s the broader football strategy. You can find the best value talent in the world but if the manager and style changes every two years then it doesn’t matter. Brighton are great as they buy players that are for the current and next manager.

Anecdotally I think it’s actually different between ‘them’ and ‘their children’. Few middle class parents suggest their kids shouldn’t have gone to uni, but I do see graduates regretting their decision all the time.

Also just think in general the difference in quality in between top three and bottom three is getting narrower each year. Suspect few teams in that chunk will do the double over any other this season.

Because at 7(0,000) it’s marginal right ?

Some gripping and important matches so far this season but, of course, the bigger question is how will this affect the side in 2029.

Love the way the last line is the same as the first line.

Pint of larger - Pour homme
Half pint of larger - Pour femme

Does it? Black and brown people work in those industries too. Bizarre to think that they behave/have a socioeconomic effect that is different to white people ?

You suspect her attempted continued public profile has pros (feels less likely any gov will go for mad unfunded tax cuts whilst people still remember her) and cons (makes it harder to see the Tories returning as the main right wing opposition).

‘You look really well.’

Yeah ‘defence’ prob the wrong word on reflection. I guess more an attempted counter-attack/deflection than a defence.
December 4, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Which he sort of has affirmed now right - as his position has shifted from denial to ‘it was banter/not said in malice’. He’s basically admitted ‘it was racist but I didn’t mean it.’ So I think all he’s got left is attack his accusers and ‘hypocrisy’ the obvious route.
December 4, 2025 at 8:36 PM
I don’t think it’s irony or being snarky, think he’s just trying to use the ‘defence’ of screaming ‘hypocrisy!’ at those who criticise him. I’m sure this isn’t a unique trait, but Brits seem to absolutely despise hypocrisy more than almost anything and he’s just tapping into that.

Ha sorry ‘major’ poor choice. Basically meant forms of news that have greatest cut through which (I believe) is basically BBC and music radio news ?
December 1, 2025 at 12:20 PM
Do you think it’s just a case of no major media organisation wants to be the first to platform the ‘we may need to change our approach to age-related spending’ conversation?

Please lettuce in

‘Thank you everyone. Michael’s request was for his coffin to be carried out to his personal favourite ‘Chase the Sun’. Please can I ask the pallbearers dressed as Peperami to come forward.’

My dad’s a builder and years ago was working on a terraced house for a while. He would start early and, over the course of about two weeks, woke all the neighbours up consistently every morning with the his fucking deafening sneeze. He got given an ASBO.

But hey, big number go down.

Mine is actually a step further. I struggle to feel any sense of pride or shame in anything that wasn’t in my control. ‘Proud to be from X’ for example. I grew up in Tottenham and there are lots of great/not so great things about that - it doesn’t make me feel any sense of pride or shame.

It also reduces deterrent effects. Long sentences aren’t a deterrent, but a high likelihood of getting caught is.
