Someone stabbed themselves in the belly. I rapid-infuse a ton of blood into them while we stabilize enough to get to emergency surgery. Dies on the table because the ambulance crew gave a med in route that was absolutely contraindicated to a pre-existing condition.

A state auditor shows up. Sees a patient on an ambulance stretcher with a paramedic crew at the charge desk. Asks, "why aren't they in a room" and have to explain without losing my shit that sometimes there are more people than rooms in emergency settings.

fuck it, stories from yesterday:
-Guy collapsed walking to the front desk. Lifted him into a stretcher and got him to my trauma room. Got him back after 45 minutes of CPR. Intubated, central line, pressors, the works. Leave the room and another patient yells at me bc I had hadn't got her a sandwich
