Philly area. I tend to bounce around 5 theaters in the area.

I love a crowd that's into the movie. A packed house with laughing, screaming, or someone let's out an "oh shit" at a big moment. Selfies & people taking pics/vids of spoilery moments seem to be the new norm around here.

I've run into the tent thing 3 times. Family brings comforters or blankets, drapes them between 2 rows and set the kids in there with tablets or Switch's. Had it happen right next to me at Alien Romulus.

It seemed like it was going that way in this area pre-Covid. But that innovation pretty much stopped here. If they have recliners, they're beat up (especiallythe faux leather ones).

I'm nostalgic for a theater experience that no longer exists in my area. Clean, maintained, audiences that are actually there to watch the movie, no families setting up tents to hide their kids, and theaters that don't tolerate people being problematic.

I haven't had a good experience in years. Poorly run theaters, not to mention that it's a constant barrage of kids with tablets, people taking pics, texting, facetiming, etc. It's exhausting to deal with. Given the option, I'll usually pay more to just watch at home or wait.
