Hospitals, doctors, universities, and even medical supply/device companies and pharmaceutical companies would like that. It would cut 90% of their hassles with being blackmailed by 20 or more different insurance companies trying to figure out formularies and in-network providers.

The ability to insult people is one of the last things dementia patients lose. I’ve seen severely demented patients in nursing homes spew out a string of sentence enhancers that would make George Carlin blush.

Bernie does not fit that description. He showed poor leadership after he lost by double digits in 2016, an ass kicking in any other election format, and his campaign tried to overturn that loss at the convention. Their actions sabotaged his 2020 campaign. Plus he’s older than Biden.

Not disagreeing with this assessment but who do you want instead? I guess that’s my biggest complaint about the progressive wing is that they don’t present any compelling alternatives and then when they lose primary elections, they complain about the nominees.

The last ten years of elections have been as much about the lack of emerging, charismatic leaders in the progressive movement running in swing districts as it is about the weakness of the democratic candidates. If no credible alternatives are offered then saying things like this is just whining.

It would be awkward if she looked at the surgery, cardiology, and ER physician staff at her local hospital and realized it would shut down if they actually did what she wanted.

Then get the most votes in the primary for a different candidate. If a candidate can’t do that, it’s hard to justify they would have a better chance in the general. It’s not that complicated.

Who do you want to run? Offer a plausible alternative and get the most votes in the primary and that candidate will be the nominee.

If any social media liberals should return to more assertively it’s Facebook. At least most accounts aren’t anonymous and bots are easy to recognize. Not saying people should feel obligated but it’s harder to wish people harm or use patently absurd arguments when friends and family are there

It’s probably closer to 45% and growing. The real fear of violence is when gerrymandering causes catastrophic Republican losses due to motivated democrats and many disillusioned republicans in places they would never lose before gerrymandering reduced margins to make more slim margin districts

It’s a myth that measles infection immunity can’t wane. I had measles in elementary school in the mid 1970s and had to get a titer to be a vendor at a local hospital and was no longer immune to it or chicken pox.
