If the various tech hearings over the last couple of years are any indication of how well congress knows tech, I wouldn’t be surprised if the “algorithm” is really just Elon running disk cleanup in front of these jokers and saying look at this waste, fraud and abuse it’s finding.

“Mistakes” have no place in public health safety, security, or aid. Go fast and break things may work in tech, where people like Musk don’t care what it does to their people, but in a government that is for and by the people, these mistakes translate to lives lost. Get a f***ing grip.
I don’t care if they’re making the very best decisions in the history of policymaking—they’re NOT ALLOWED to do ANY of this.
Musk: I should say we will make mistakes. We won't be perfect. But when we make a mistake we'll fix it quickly. So for example with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled briefly was Ebola prevention.
