Kevin Feige has confirmed that The Fantastic Four will “go right into the next Avengers movies” and Doctor Doom has always been the main villain of the team, so it makes sense that they would have a big role to play in the story.

Yeah, I like that idea! As for this particular rumor about The Fantastic 4, I’ve heard this from other sources as well.

With no studio confirmation this is just a rumor. In regard to Robert Downey Jr., yes, his version of Doctor Doom is not a Tony Stark variant. But, it would be pretty wild if Downey Jr. pulled double duty and also returned as a Stark variant as well. That’s just fun speculation.
