Tron Legacy was so faithful to its IP. It even had authentic pace issues at the half way point like the 80s original. Both would have any modern child sparked out and snoring on a couch 40mins in.. gone.
Had to go dig this vinyl out of the crates in the back room. Still a soundtrac to the past month. Love this Kawai live version on YT of the Patlabor 2 theme that builds a bridge into the Hallucination theme. Almost sounds Kamasi Washington LA Jazz Soul like with the choir. youtu.be/_mT65LMSRpU?...
Only found out recently that Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings on Wii comes with 1992’s Fate of Atlantis as an Easter egg that you can unlock on the opening menu. Not there on the PS2 or PSP versions. I suppose the Wii Remote controls can replicate SCUMM mouse controls.
Popped into CeX, Halesowen this afternoon coming back from the race. They have more Nintendo (mainly Wii) than any other branch I’ve been in. Got my fix of cheapies with some store credit. Most I paid was £12 for Enthusia.
New PB this morning at the Alcester 10k. Not bad considering I was traveling back from North Wales at 8pm last night and a stitch started to rattled me at the 6k mark.
Late last night came back from Northern Eye Photography Festival. Couldn’t stay for the Sunday got a run today. They had talks from Martin Parr among other soeakers. Artists putting work up around the town.
This week I got plastic protectors for the J-NTSC POWER HOUSES. Hides the wear on my MegaDrive outer box. 🧊 When I got this looked like it been stored somewhere damp for a considerable time. Took some cleaning and drying out.
Really like the Reznor & Atticus ambient stuff on this. Don’t like 20% NIN on this. Fragile parody to sounds video gamey cliche. Might work in a film. 👺 𝒮𝑜𝓇𝓇𝓎… 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓈𝑜𝓇𝓇𝓎
The Japanese Mario 64 official strategy guide is an incredible thing. "Can we make little hand-made dioramas of all the levels?" "Sure, why the hell not."
Long week at work. Been looking at The Scream with Year 8 this week. Doing some mono printing. No climbing tonight. Braved the storm took an alternative route around horrendous M6. Escaped to the North to Cheshire see a mate. Heading up to Colwyn Bay tomorrow for the biennial Photography festival.
Mean look at the IO miner spacesuits. Nothing was recycled from Alien. But as Pinewood costume dept, you reuse good ideas. Specially when your director wants that Alien / Silent Running / Star Wars grunge. Having internal lights in helmet has filming benefits.
Haven’t seen this since a legendary Sci Fi weekend that ran on BBC2 or Channel 4 in mid 90s. Watched Westworld, Scanners and Demonseed.. in the same weekend. Young mind blown.
Watching Peter Hyam’s Outland (1981) with Sean Connery. High Noon set in space. Hyam’s practically took the Pinewood set production crew 18months after Alien and they built the IO mining facility. There’s a fucking company / lots of blue collar jobs. It looks like its shares the same universe. 🪐
Hibino’s Arsenal Guts - Alert Phase. Video game music didn’t sound like this.. never has since. Remember the first time I triggered this in Arsenal Gear… 2am weird adrenaline rush, Colonel’s codec messages start get glitchy and weird. Trying to finish my first play through.
‼️ Metal Gear Solid 2 - Sons of Liberty - Original Soundtrack by Harry Greeson-Williams and Norihiko Hibino | 2001 | Mond-262 | Mondo Waltz Records / Konami Digital | 💦
