That's the first hotel I'd ever stayed in that had signs forbidding guests from lighting bonfires in their rooms. Couldn't work out what that said about the russian population.

There is no short cut. There is no power without responsibility or consequences or hard work. The US can't just 'spend' reputation and then buy more. When it's gone, it's gone. No more superpower. Uninvestable basket case. Chances of recovery slim, as all countries that can put boot in on way down.

At what point does Europe find it's at war with both Russia and the US? Not until Russia starts using the latest American aircraft? Or prior to that, when the US starts economically blackmailing EU countries to drop support for Ukraine?

The problem with that logic, is that the 'crisis' will somehow right itself, despite having had the very things that prevented it happening removed.

It doesn't even do that! It's telling you you're a German speaker, reading English words. I am quite tempted to download it, to "learn how to speak like a native English speaker". Astonish my family for Christmas. But, no.

It's no Henry Higgins. He'd have noted I live in Scotland, spent my youth in Norfolk, was educated at private school, watched Australian soap operas in my teens, and spent a large part of my adult life in Cumbria and central London. Friends just dismiss it as "quite posh".

Er, it's bollocks. Three requests for repeat recordings and I get this. I'm from the West Riding. Second incredibly shaky languages are French and German.
