Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Like it cannot be overstated how destabilizing mass unemployment is. It creates desperation. It’s revolution fuel. Americans are just too insulated from that reality but it’s textbook failed state stuff.

This is what will fuel anti tech backlash and it won’t just be from the left. Remember that unemployment hit 10% during the housing crisis and that spurred the Occupy and Tea Party movements. What happens when we hit 20% unemployment because of AI? That’s when governments collapse.
