Why do young adults join far-right movements? Agnieszka Pasieka delivered a great lecture on this topic on Friday at Oxford’s Anthropology seminar.

Thrilled to announce the release of Uprooted: How Post-WWII Population Transfers Remade Europe with Cambridge UP 🎉🎉
The book argues that accommodating the displaced population can strengthen states and benefit local economies in the long run.

According to a recent survey, about 75% of Czechs believe the societal changes of November 1989 were "worth it"—the highest approval since 1999. Yet, this optimism contrasts with rising populist and illiberal sentiments in Czech society. A paradox worth reflecting on.
