Thinks about physics and things.
If our universe is a black hole then that means our universe isn't flat and we have a preferred reference frame. What's that reference frame in the context of the universe as a black hole? Is it the outer-universe that our universe exists in or something else? Maybe the spin rate of the black hole?

If you remove all particles in the universe with mass, your just left with particles that don't interact. Their wave functions are just noise as they move past each other. Is that functionally the same as having no locality? No space? Maybe gravity and space are the same thing???

If the graviton actually existed, it would be responsible for space in the same way the photon is responsible for electromagnetism, wouldn't it?

Apparently, energy conservation is contingent on a regular flow of time but in a black hole time (from the outsider's perspective) ends. What does that mean for energy conservation in the singularity?

Me learning that the "universe is just a black hole" theory has already been thought of by serious scientists. 😲 It just can't be a coincidence! www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeRg...

The Fermi Paradox has at least 2 obvious solutions:
1. Civilizations, by nature, don't last very long. (supported by world history)
2. Interstellar travel is an intractable problem. (supported by physics)

If the greatest mystery in quantum mechanics is the collapse of the wave function and QM is fundamentally incompatible with relativity, shouldn't we be looking for ways to find relativity somewhere in the wave function collapse?

Magic, understood as deviation from natural law, deserves skepticism since observing the consistency of natural law is powerful evidence against it.

Quantum theory tells us that a particle's position in space-time is probabilistic. Doesn't that mean that the entire concepts of space and time are also fundamentally probabilistic or stochastic?

Apparently, an electron is really nothing but "virtual" particles playing hot potato with a "real" electric charge. Reality when closely examined feels like nonsense. 🤪

Did you know that most of the entropy in the universe is contained inside black holes? That's crazy to me.

A proper "Theory of Everything" should not just unify quantum mechanics and relativity but also space and time as a single concept. That means seeking an equation that describes a system's change over time is misguided.

After passing the event horizon of a black hole, the way out shrinks to nothing so all directions point toward the singularly. In the same way, we can't point in the direction of time to traverse it.

What if time isn't a special dimension... just a special direction toward a singularity in 4D space?

If anti-protons can "orbit" nuclei like electrons, can we make some seriously energy dense fuel out of it?
