🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Happy St. Andrews Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I didn’t get a chance to go out and take a specific photo for St Andrews day, so this shot was taken on this date a few years ago and I cannot think of a more iconic Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 location.

Blue hour at Kinghorn.

I have been doing some video work at Port Edgar and could not resist the opportunity to turn the drone and catch the Port Edgar marina against the backdrop of 2 of the bridges.

Warm and Cold at the Buachaille.

The low winter sun casts a warm glow over the landscape in front of the Buachaille, but it was still Baltic! 🥶

Buachaille Etive Mòr stands dusted with fresh, perfectly reflected in the frozen River Etive below. The little arched bridge sits quietly in the landscape, framed by icy water, scattered rocks and that classic Highland light breaking through the clouds.

A Highland Stag, calm and majestic, slowly walks towards me. Scotland at its best.
November 23, 2025 at 8:03 AM
The River Coupall meanders its way around the Great Buachaille dressed for winter and along the side of the A82 as the rising sun bursts through the horizon and catches the top of the mountain.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I think this has been one of the best Autumns for tree cloud that I have seen. Another shot from my local park.

I knew that photographing the Forth Bridges on Halloween was a silly idea! But I never expected to get photobombed by a coven of witches.

Just a little Halloween fun, but get this: over 4,000 Scots (mostly women) were accused of witchcraft between 1563 and 1736, and the majority were executed.

A walk with the dogs around Heatherhall Woods near Ladybank yesterday. Autumn 🍂 in full flow.

I was working in Paisley yesterday, but I made sure I set aside some time to get a long exposure shot at the Anchor Mills.

The River Garry.

I spent the peak of autumn last year in the Colorado mountains photographing the fall colours. This year I have been firmly rooted at home, and it is as if Scotland is saying, “Colorado, hold my beer, I’ll show you real autumn colours.”

💗 Craigievar Castle 🏰

Another colourful Autumn image for you today. With its soft pink walls and towering turrets, this 17th-century castle near Alford looks like it was plucked from the pages of a storybook.

I was walking my dogs in the local woods when I came across this scene.
