Combobox is a bad pattern

AI search results sometimes feel like replacing the index of a book with an extremely enthusiastic nerd who wants to help but ultimately gets in the way

I'm great at pitching ideas, but I have no follow through.

css.properties, among other things. What's currently there definitely doesn't match what I have in progress, but it's been hard to find the motivation to flesh it out. I've owned the domain for years.

Maybe I set my own bar too high? Maybe it's a fear of infrastructure creep?

The rationale I've always told myself is my career scratches that itch pretty damn well. Since I already spend a majority of my working life in front of a screen, more programming is the last thing I want to do.

Some quick questions for folks who maintain blogs, side projects, host podcasts, influence thots, speak at conferences, etc.:

1. How?
2. Why not me do cool code stuff?

I make tons of insanely cool shit at work but when it comes to starting and managing my own ideas I get stuck.

There are so many variables to consider when it comes to getting actual value out of lossless and high-resolution audio: the device, OS, the software, the signal path, the headphones or speakers, how you're positioned relative to the output, room layout, your age... And that's not even the beginning

Snazzy Labs did a video detailing the inner turmoil between teams working on AI, and why Siri is so bad. It doesn't really answer your question but it might provide insight into how things like this can happen at massive tech companies who have more employees than the populations of some countries

When Claude's been scolded for tone but it still wants to say its favorite catchphrase
"You're absolutely right. Let me clean up the document tone to be more direct and technical, removing the marketing language that doesn't help maintainers understand the implementation."
