This is exactly the attitude of dictators: They demand extreme loyalty and conflate loyalty to the state with loyalty to them (while acting against the interests of the state).
This is the current #GOP. (Without the GOP, #Trump would be impeached.)

The Pope should denounce #racism within the Church.

That's how compromising political "donations" work: The "donation" is to the politician (supporting his personal vanity project, or a plane for him personally (it won't get much use as Air Force One because of the time to fit it out)), but the return is paid for by the taxpayer.

Actually, #Trump (so he claims anyway) is not directly using taxpayer funds to pay for it: It being paid for by "donations" from billionaires. These investments by the billionaires will be repaid with interest from public funds, but the cost to the taxpayer will be much higher.

Even an incompetent person with some policies you oppose is better than someone actively working against you and your democracy.
And I'm sure the Democrats will have a competent, intelligent candidate with sensible policies.

The most basic requirement for any leader in a democracy is that they support democracy (and therefore, the constitution).
It's not difficult to find such a person, except in the #GOP.
Other qualities, such as intelligence and competence (which #Trump doesn't have either) are secondary:

Notice how he says "Just in", as if there was a source other than his mad imagination.

If you're not sure whether you are registered, or where your polling station is, you can check at checktheregister.ie . Your polling station could be different to the last election. It's stated on your polling card.

Bring identification, and your polling card if you have it. If you don't have your polling card, you can still vote (provided that you are registered).

- "X" etc. against candidates that you're not voting for, especially if there is only one of them: It can be argued that the "X" indicates a candidate that you're voting for. Some people mark a line through the box, which can look like a "1". Leave the space blank.

If you're casting a protest vote for Gavin, fill in a second preference so that your vote is not wasted.

Some common mistakes we see that can spoil ballots are:
- Writing other than the numbers beside each candidate: Any slogans, opinions, or whatever (they all spoil the vote).
