Sucks, but it is better if Ukraine is funded than not. Not that I am sure that that will seal the deal for funding from the United States for Ukraine.

LOL! Good comeback, but more of a Dorothy Parker riposte, then adding to understanding. All good, impossible to get nuanced thinking on social media. But sharing accountability doesn’t mean Reagan isn’t accountable. 👍

Hey, important to not forget 2 Reagan pints: 1. Debt to GDP went from 32 to 52%. 2. Top 1% of wealth went from having 10% or wealth to 22% of wealth. Reagan was right on not appeasing Russia. But Reagan started the huge division on income capture between wealthy and not.

This is one of your better pieces Noah. Honoring the reality of what democratic liberalism has achieved for this country. Doing a pretty good job (but not perfect - because no piece is) of integrating different threads, positive and negative, in society trends. 👍

Again and again, Trump and HIS coterie of elites, has all been about the bust out. Was clear since Musk and DOGE.

Availability is the best ability." Without a floor, we’re back to "vibe-based" voting where a legend like Curry could land All-NBA on 40 games over a guy who grinded out 75. The floor sets a standard: if you want the legacy, you have to show up. Keep the 65

@granthughes.bsky.social Respect the pod, but I have to push back on the 65-game rule take. It wasn't born in a vacuum; it was a response to tactical "load management" that was making the regular season optional for stars and a gamble for fans.

Because he didn’t post to the article in his timeline! 😂😂 or if he did, I missed it.

And Zach - I AM a customer. 😀 subscribed to the athletic and everything 👍🙏

Sigh. I’m not arguing, I’m discussing - really! 😀 The problem with text only - appears harsher than it is.
December 31, 2025 at 6:55 PM
There isn’t a right or wrong answer - I think it is a fascinating question, that needs more air and consideration 😀
December 31, 2025 at 6:53 PM
I didn’t mean it as “harsh”. And I still don’t think this meets my objection. It seems more like a throw away “to be sure” line, which is said only in passing, some hand waving. For example - what would the test be for you? If Shai/Jokic did 80/50. For u, then what?
December 31, 2025 at 6:53 PM
Your article on the 65 game rule. you didn’t include an analysis of “The best ability is availability”. Shai plays 20 more game than Jokic - that should matter, even if his overall numbers are not as impressive. Outcome of your article is - those 20 extra games don’t matter. And that is just wrong.
December 31, 2025 at 4:52 PM
LOL - he is so awesome to listen to.

If “the devil” is LLMs: it is a tool. tool keeps getting better, so I use it. Long term - yeah, it’s going to be a problem for society. Cory Doctorow - “enshittification” for tech platforms 2005-2025. The potential for LLM enshittification is incredibly, profoundly scary, no doubt.

Two separate areas. 1. Much more car free city - but you need significant public transportation, you can’t wave that away. But would be great. 2. Waymo’s versus human drivers. As your own post points out, humans can’t be trusted on the road.
December 30, 2025 at 8:19 PM
Yes, get Zach on here, so I can nitpick his podcasts! Hmmm, well, I guess that’s not the best invite, I gotta work on that.
December 30, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Not to mention the passing and playmaking. King James is like no other.
December 30, 2025 at 8:15 PM
THIS is true. And, THIS is one of the possible consequences of Waymo et al. Everyone wants that great ride, and Waymo’s flood the streets. Still worth it because of the drop in accidents with walkers, bikers, other cars, and not contributing gas into the environment. But a real cost.
December 30, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Agreed. “The best ability is availability”. Pundits SAY this, but when it comes to their favorite players, they want to FORGET this! 😀😀

You may need to see the Gemini post - as ai see you replied to the Perplexity post
December 30, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Which of course, is similar to what entertaining NBa writing does - pull a star “only player to have 23.5 pts, 6.7 RBS and 7.2 assists..” in order to highlight a player that is good. And cherry-picking the opposite, when you want to dismiss a player. 😀
December 30, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Thank you. 😀 I embed a lot to chew on. 1. Mirroring the cherry-picking of NBA analysts - as you say. Including - quite a lot of true facts pulled by Gemini - to counter the “received wisdom” of NBA punditry, re: Harden. And of course - showing how in interpretation, Gemini indulges me. 😀
December 30, 2025 at 5:23 PM
LOL 😀

@michaelvpina.bsky.social @howardbeck.bsky.social wanted to touch base on this. TLDR: Your comment is behind the times. GEMINI 3! - gets only a little wrong. And entertaining! Worth reading this - please try it out. Lots of Jokic/Jordan//Harden/Curry/Doncic love 😀😀
