Ya. 100% we've to an almost launch day version of an app too and we aren't fan of doing that for the exact reasons you mentioned. The new features are almost never worth the bugs.

Its not developers fault either with games and software. The deadlines are just flat out not obtainable.

I liked hearing Doug getting Sabonis out of the spot, but DeRozan and Sabonis both want to occupy the same space. Add in the ball dominance of Monk and LaVine and its just a miserable offense to watch and it's not any singular players fault. It's just the roster.

Then you can spend more time and effort on making NBA 2k(gen 5) better and can even give you windows to rebuild the game from the ground up without missing yearly releases

Example. Instead of NBA2K25 24 23 etc.

Sell it as NBA 2k(gen 4)

Then sell me a "graphics enhancement and roster update" patch every year for $30-$40.

Id be far far more likely to buy the core game and then a few patches here and there. Right now I just dont buy it. Feels like a scam.

If games sold themselves as a big initial expense. $80. Then I was going to get yearly $30 patches until they could release another big update for $80 etc. I wouldn't hate this model. But this current one is miserable.

Yup. Same exact thing and EA was doing that badly with Battelfield and the game finally tanked so hard that they released a real update with battlefield 6

Meanwhile games like Gran Turismo 7 keep updating and adding cars/tracks for free. They even did a massive physics update for free.

I'm not either tbh but I'm not completely out. There isn't much about this current roster make up that has me excited for the season itself but there are players like Nique and Keegan that I will still super enjoy watching. Then if they can start moving the guard log jam and have the roster start

but ya, if you factor in what you're paying for like Call of Duty vs. what you're actually getting is insane.

You're paying $80 for the game + $20 4 times a year. Then you get to do it all over again for a new version that could be justified as just a major patch

I think it was Forza that may have pissed me off the most, I believe they were the ones that release a DLC a few months after launch and you had to put the disk back in because a majority of the DLC was already on the disc.
