I grew up in Syracuse. I seldom have time for photos when I visit. This is one of my favorites. Do look it up... my photos don't nearly do it justice.

When the Columbia came to Buffalo, I was hired to take photos at a reception aboard the boat. We were told to stay within "safe" areas and I did. But I fell through the floor anyway. People rushed at me to help. I threw them my camera and my wallet. But I didn’t fall all the way through, thank God!

I had a photo editing program with a kaleidoscope filter. Select part of a photo, input how many reflections you want, and it did the rest. It was unpredictable but fun. We’re used to right angles and curves in architecture, but a 9-sided or 13-sided image is strange and exotic.

p.s. this is Electric Tower, originally the Buffalo home of Niagara Mohawk (now National Grid). It's currently mixed use including some residential.
