That's fair—I agree with instinct to be skeptical. My point was that we also shouldn't write off anecdotal observations out of hand, particularly when they align with a change in ownership like this. But I understand better what you mean by noise now.

Except dismissing claims about TikTok's algorithm as "just a lot of noise" is at least as speculative as the claims themselves. You (we) aren't in a position to know whether this is signal or noise yet; these may in fact be accurate observations of real changes.

Many noncitizens are still required by law to register with the Selective Service. On top of the obvious safety and privacy threats that disclosing their data to DHS/ICE would pose, it would also heighten distrust and drive down registration rates. www.sss.gov/wp-content/u...

This catchall 'violation of law' language isn't unknown to system of records notices, but it's new for the Selective Service. Previously the only law enforcement disclosures allowed were narrower ones to DOJ and state/local governments—see the prior SORN: www.federalregister.gov/documents/20...
