Watching a lunchtime politics show and despairing. If you put yourself forward to be interviewed, answer the questions, don't argue to push forward your own agenda.

357 miles driven in the car today, round trip to Aintree for an anime convention. I may have purchased another fake sword.

Watched three(!) films this weekend. Re-watched The Prestige, when you know the twists and turns it's fun to go back and see the clues throughout the film; Alien Romulus, a haunted house in space film; and finished with The Pope's Exorcist, which I thoroughly enjoyed - up with this sort of thing!

I keep reading about mistakes that AI keeps making, yet there seems to be such a big push to use AI as a replacement for human decision making. Paying people to make decisions costs money, but that money is generally filtered back into the economy (we spend it!) What does AI do with its money?

A day that started with a cat rudely waking me up at 5am, an hour of taekwondo training starting at 9.30am that involved free sparring, patterns and one-step sparring, and a trip to the supermarket at 11am for steaks and to take advantage of a 25% off offer on 6 bottles of wine.

Wildlife camera didn't pick up any 'intruders' in the garden last night, so I'll stick it back out later and put a bird feeder out. I want the birds back in the garden.

Haircut day! Plus a wander into town to pick up Gilt Frame issue 3. Dark nights, work stress from job evaluation and a strong Wednesday workout have left me a bit knackered so glad to have the extra day off.

Mainly posting on Pay-Tree-On these days (link in bio). Nod Away v3 is very much still in progress, slow as that progress may be. The more support I get the less side work I’ll have to do and the quicker v3 will be done - please, spread the word if you’re up for it. Thanks.

Finished watching 'War of the Worlds' on Disney+. The name of the series might be familiar, but the storyline is very different, especially the third season. Worth watching again.

Day off work, opportunity to play a bit of Portal Revolution with the child who took control of most of it. Limited assistance was required from the parental unit.

I'd been into town earlier to pick this up from my local comic shop (Travelling Man in Newcastle). Final issue, interesting concept I enjoyed because I've followed Matt Kindt's work since Mind Mgmt.

Rejoice, the bike is fixed and I biked to work this morning through the glorious rain.

Also, at taekwondo this morning, we were asked to choose an exercise for the class to do as the class finished. I was feeling a little exhausted so suggested "walking at a gentle pace". I think a little extra time to recover before the next exercise was appreciated by my fellow martial artists.

Has surrendered and booked the bike in for a service this week, I just couldn't get the back wheel properly sorted. If it were the summer, I'd have been happier to spend time in the garden trying to get it right, but winter-bike-repair is best left to professionals.

Using a bicycle for commuting to work is great. Fixing the bike is a faff though, and having to put a new back wheel on in the freezing cold wasn't fun this morning. It still needs a bit of finesse and the chain needs cleaning so I'll stick to walking in this week and finish the job next weekend.
