I'm on here looking for my people. Happily I've already found some from previous encounters. Made a few new digital pals too. If you follow me, I will generally follow back. But you need a profile, a bio, a history of human posts and replies, and no buzzkill content (the NFL is one for me).
The NFL isn’t a sport anymore; it’s a corporate sermon delivered in 17 Sundays and a Super Bowl halftime show. Four hours of commercials for trucks, beer, and pharmaceutical side effects just to watch six minutes of actual action between men slowly concussing themselves for billionaires.

The US government collected nearly $30 billion in tariff revenue last month, the Treasury Department reported. That's a huge new tax on working class Americans and severe inflationary pressure. The impact it will have on GDP will more than offset any gains. America won't survive the Trump economy.

If you did not vote for @hillaryclinton.bsky.social in 2016, kindly find a hole to go live in and never emerge. You destroyed everything good about this country by allowing far-right conservatives to take over the Supreme Court of the United States. You were warned, and you &*!$%# let it happen.

A Florida storm™️ is moving in and the pressure change was so dramatic the house shook and I felt my chest compress. That's not a usual occurrence.

Bill Moyers, a rock-solid journalist, devoted public servant, and exemplary human, has died at 91. For a while, his face and voice were everywhere, and I listened intently as he interviewed the great thinkers and doers of the time. I learned so much from his work, and he will be greatly missed.

The Supreme Court thinks America is over. At least that's what the right wing majority wants. They certainly don't expect states with high functioning economies to stick around and provide welfare to red states as they strip away civil rights. Every ruling is a Dear John letter to progressives.

From what I'm reading about Zohran Mamdani, his politics and mine overlap significantly. I had given up on the idea of running for office. I figured I was too far left for most people. While that may be true in Florida, it's nice to see that it isn't true everywhere.

It's funny. Any of us could bullet point a party platform that the majority of Americans support. Prior to Bill Clinton, these would have drawn unifying support from progressive political groups.

Name a leader on the progressive left who has the gift of oratory. Someone who could convince others to assemble and unite behind the belief that there is a way out of this mess. Why? 👇

What happens when AI replaces every job? Let's assume we achieve AGI. The future of humanity depends not on the technology itself, but on who controls it and how its benefits are shared. It could lead to widespread liberation or devastating inequality. Which direction do you think we are heading?

Comedy is tragedy plus time, so give it a while, and even the most painful experiences can become a source of laughter. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

The weather is acting up, and government officials just shrug. They say we should accept Climate Change as the new normal. What do you call this type of leadership? A rain-or-shine-dictatorship!

This was our lunch order number at Walt Disney World yesterday. Even Mickey Mouse knows 47 has to go:

In the event of a country disintegrating under a fascist dictator, the emergency exits are north, south, across the pond and down under. Good luck and we thank you for flying Air America.

An awful tragedy in Minnesota. Let's hope they catch the ass hats who did this quickly.

I think America needs a new rule for law enforcement, unless you are executing a warrant signed by a judge that allows no-knock entry, then you will need to show official department ID ...

Since we're renaming things, calling this the Third Millennium feels entirely arbitrary and eurocentric. Is there a better time we can pinpoint as the dawn of recorded time?

Parents with kids born in this century, did you buy your child's domain name before you put it on a birth certificate?

What is the oldest piece of technology you own and regularly use in your home?

We ditched our home phone & we haven't used our VHS player in years. It has to be the tube TV we keep in our bedroom because we may, someday, want to plug in the old ColecoVision for a game night.

How about you?

If I were a CEO in the USA right now, I’d be moving my HQ and factories to a blue state ASAP. Red states voted for no FEMA for disaster recovery, but only blue states will be able to foot the bill. Red states will get the same FAFO experience that North Carolina has 'enjoyed.'

They say you can never go home again. Turns out, sometimes home leaves you.
Not all at once, but slowly, in arguments shouted across cable news, in neighbors who stop waving, in school boards turned battlegrounds and churches turned stages.

Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
